Christmas markets in the neighbourhood
Leaving the Hôtel des Mines, walk through the Jardin du Luxembourg and head along the magnificent Boulevard Saint-Michel. You will then have the choice of letting yourself be guided by the looming, French Gothic magnificence of Notre-Dame Cathedral or following the elegant Boulevard Saint-Germain. The first option will take you to the Marché de Noël de Notre-Dame, on the Quai de Montebello. The world-famous cathedral and the oldest tree in Paris watch over this family-friendly Christmas market where artisans ply their wares in a convivial atmosphere. Many activities also take place here, including pony rides and an opportunity to meet Father Christmas. The second option takes you to the Marché de Noël de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Like the district in which it takes place, this Christmas market is refined and elegant, offering a range of high-quality artisanal products.

Continue your walk towards the Eiffel Tower. A large Village de Noël is set up there that is dedicated each year to the gastronomy of our regions. You will find Alsatian kouglofs, Corsican charcuterie, Savoie cheese as well as traditional biscuits from the Basque Country and kouign amann from Brittany. Take the opportunity to have lunch or dinner in these festive surroundings. On the other side of the Seine, the Marché de Noël des Tuileries doubles as a funfair. The atmosphere is festive and family-friendly, and you’re sure to find plenty of tasty treats to snack on between enjoying the rides.
