For all tastes and desires. Thanks to the diversity of Parisian institutions, you're sure to find an exhibition you like in Paris, especially at the end of the year. Take advantage of the Hôtel des Mines' ideal location in the heart of the Latin Quarter to discover them all. Here are a few ideas...

A few must-sees

The Musée d'Orsay is a must-see at the end of the year. Until February 4, the museum is staging an original exhibition devoted to the last two months of Van Gogh's life. Through some forty paintings and twenty drawings, follow the evolution of the painter's style and inspiration. Also just a few minutes' walk from the Hôtel des Mines, visit the Musée du Luxembourg for a moving dialogue between Gertrude Stein and Pablo Picasso. For the fiftieth anniversary of the artist's death, their friendship is explored through their artistic worlds and inspirations.

Original or unusual

The history of the metro at the Cité de l'Architecture, discovering Madagascar's aquatic ecosystem in the footsteps of the Joba Mena at the Paris Tropical Aquarium, diving into 19th-century Japan, presented in a series of colorized photographs at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs - there's no shortage of ideas. You might also prefer Préhistomania, a superb exhibition devoted to cave art at the Musée de l'Homme. Finally, experience all the emotions of Océans. L'Odyssée immersive, the new digital exhibition at the Atelier des Lumières. With images and videos projected onto every floor plan of this former foundry, the experience is simply unique.
