The big Parisian festival for book lovers

The big Parisian festival for book lovers

Published on In Paris

From April 21st to 23rd, Paris will host the new edition of the Festival du Livre. Although Italian literature is the guest of honour at this year’s event, all facets of modern publishing are covered by this huge celebration of books, including comics, textbooks, novels, essays, spirituality, science, and more. Take advantage of all the event has to offer during your stay at the Hôtel des Mines in the heart of the Latin Quarter.

Books and encounters

At the foot of the Eiffel Tower, in the wooden structure of the Grand Palais Éphémère, the Festival du Livre welcomes numerous publishing houses who come to present their old or recently discovered authors. The festival is also home to many meeting places, such as the Agora and various literary cafés, thereby helping to create links between authors, publishers and readers. Dedications, interviews, conferences, meetings, and dialogues are scheduled throughout the three days of the event.

Big names and delightful venues

Check out the festival's entertainment programme now and book your tickets as soon as possible. The range of guests from the literary world include the Nothomb sisters and Erri de Luca at the Sorbonne, while Maurizio Serra, Daniel Pennac, and Christine Orban at the Grand Palais Éphémère will doubtless prove very popular attractions. Also within the framework of the Festival du Livre, the Collège des Bernardins will hold its festival of religious books and the Musée des Arts et Métiers its Science for All festival. Of course, the Hôtel des Mines team will be delighted to help you organise your festival visits and trips.

Paris and the book have a long history that finds its fullest expression each year during the Festival du Livre. During your stay at the Hotel des Mines, you can make the most of the event while simultaneously discovering the myriad charms of the Latin Quarter.
